Dr. Yoon completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and History from the College of William and Mary, medical degree from the Eastern Virginia Medical School and is in GW psychiatry residency program. During medical school and residency, she has developed interests in cross-cultural and community psychiatry. While in medical school, she volunteered at a student-run free clinic and also served as an AHA certified CPR instructor, training members in underserved communities. Dr. Yoon is passionate about working with the child and adolescent population and has a long history of volunteering with mentoring programs at local public schools. She has been active in research efforts studying mental health literacy in Korean American families and adolescents, as well as current research at Children’s National studying the efficacy of DBT training for trainees. She is also the recipient of the APA/APAF SAMSHA Minority Fellowship for 2021-22.
