Children's National Hospital Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellow
Alyssa Stram is a second-year child and adolescent psychiatry fellow at Children's National. She completed her undergraduate BS at Cornell University, followed by medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine and her adult psychiatry residency at Staten Island University Hospital (Northshore LIJ/Northwell Health). She received mentorship in CBT, DBT and ECT during residency and lead medical student didactics through case-based learning and interactive workshops. She became an advocate of adolescent mental health during her PGY3 experience developing and implementing a suicide post-vention program while serving on a psychiatric consult service for a local high school in Staten Island. She is currently exploring her interest in pediatric neurodevelopmental and learning disorders and is interested in psychoneuroimmunology and educational advocacy. She is currently engaged in a Health Policy project aimed at broadening DC Medicaid coverage to include adolescent DBT.
