
Dan Karel, DO
Dan Karel is a third-year resident physician in Internal Medicine at the George Washington University. He attended Boston University where he majored in Biology and also pursued a minor concentration in Environmental Analysis and Policy. After completing his undergraduate studies, Dan went on to work as a junior research technologist in the laboratory of Dr. Bruce Walker at Massachusetts General Hospital studying the role of CD8+ T cells in HIV infection and spontaneous viral control. Dan completed his medical degree (DO) at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Manhattan before moving to Washington, DC for his residency. Dan has developed a passion for primary care, medical education and quality improvement. He will be pursuing a career as an academic general internist and clinician-educator following residency.
