Jenny Harmon is a second-year Medical Genetics Fellow at Children's National Hospital. She completed undergraduate training at Erskine College, the medical scientist training program at Medical University of South Carolina, and both pediatric residency and child neurology fellowship at Children's National Hospital. Her PhD research focused on drug discovery and mitochondrial biology. Her professional goal is to unite her clinical and research interests to build a career as an physician scientist specializing in pediatric neurogenetics with a research program focused on development of novel therapeutics to treat mitochondrial dysfunction in pediatric-onset neurodegenerative disorders. Additionally, Jenny is the mother of an autistic four-year boy, and her experiences in parenting a disabled child have sparked a passion for disability rights.
