Joe Leary is a seasoned emergency medicine doctor with experience working in both urban and rural America. He holds a clinical faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School as “instructor in emergency medicine” and practices in the Cambridge Health Alliance safety net hospital system. He is in the process of relocating from Cambridge, MA to Washington, DC to work in Senator Bill Cassidy’s office as a health legislative fellow. He recently completed his MPH at the Harvard School of Public Health where he became particularly passionate about reducing maternal & infant mortality, funding critical access hospitals, and promoting advanced directives. While in the greater Boston metropolitan area he distinguished himself through his selection as a MACEP leadership fellow where he has been a vocal advocate for healthcare worker safety and ED boarding legislation. His philanthropic work in Haiti with the University of Notre Dame inspired his career in emergency medicine, global health.
