Katrina Sookraj is an Edward Alexander Bouchet Fellow at Howard University, where she is pursuing a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, she earned her B.Sc. (Hons) in Biology and M.Sc. in Medical Microbiology from The University of the West Indies, graduating on the Dean’s Honour Roll. She is a 2024 recipient of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers’ Student Emerging Leader Professional Grant and has authored several research papers in microbiology, diabetes care, and regulatory science.
Katrina’s professional background includes medical sales, education, public service and patient advocacy. She is deeply committed to community impact, having volunteered with pediatric hospitals and NGOs. Her long-term goal is to advance regulatory affairs and drive innovation within the pharmaceutical industry to improve patient outcomes
