Originally from Houston, she brings a strong commitment to service and equity to her clinical and academic work. Her interests include minority mental health, reducing disparities through culturally responsive care, supporting transitional-age youth, and emergency psychiatry, where timely intervention can meaningfully impact long-term outcomes. She has held leadership roles in the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), American Psychiatric Association (APA), and American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), advocating for workforce diversity, mentorship, and equity in mental health care. Through leadership and clinical excellence, she strives to build more inclusive systems of care for vulnerable children, adolescents, and families.
