Lauren Rosenfeld is a third-year emergency medicine resident at the George Washington University Hospital. She majored in Chinese and Chemistry at the University of Oregon before serving as a Teach for America corps member in New York City where she earned a Master’s in Education. After four years as a high school science teacher, Lauren attended medical school at the University of Miami where she earned Honors in Health Law. She gained leadership experience as an advocate for patients with substance use disorder, which included successfully lobbying Florida’s legislature to pass the Infectious Disease Elimination Act that authorized syringe exchanges across the state. Currently, Lauren is combining her passions for education and health policy through a two-year podcast fellowship with EMRA and through service on the boards of AAEM/RSA, ACEP, both on the national and local level in her new home of Washington, D.C.
