Matthew Petersen is a third-year internal medicine resident at George Washington University. He completed undergraduate training at Utah State University with a major in Nutrition Science and minor in Chemistry and medical school at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT. Prior to medical school, he worked as a market analyst in the healthcare consulting wing of Leavitt Partners. He is a member of the ACP as well as the AMA and founder of the LGBTQ+ medical groups at both the University of Utah and GWU. Next year he will be a Chief Resident at GW. His career focus includes value-based practice with an emphasis on increased access and increased quality for underrepresented populations.
