Megan Gibbons, MD
Children's National Medical Center, Pediatrics
PGY-2
Megan Gibbons is a pediatric resident at Children’s National. She studied at the University of Iowa and completed her medical school at Creighton University in Nebraska. Megan has always valued access to healthcare information which drove her to contribute to assembling materials for school nurses in Nebraska’s K-12 school system, and conducting and presenting research focused on educating healthcare providers about the specific healthcare needs of the LGBTQ+ community.
As an advocate for equitable health treatment, Megan has lobbied the Nebraska state government regarding trans rights, Medicaid services, childhood endangerment laws, among others; and spoken with representatives in the US Congress with the Global Residency Education and Advocacy Team. Megan has taken active leadership roles, such as co-president of Creighton’s gay-straight healthcare alliance, Health Together. Megan plans to build upon these experiences by improving health equity in infectious diseases and neonatology.
