Michael Sexton, MBChB, MPAID
George Washington University, Psychiatry
PGY-3

Michael Sexton was born and raised in the UK and worked for the UK National Health Service as an Emergency Medicine physician before moving to Rwanda where he worked as a physician educator for Partners in Health. He then moved to the US to undertake a Masters in International Development at Harvard Kennedy School and subsequently worked as a Health Specialist at the World Bank where he oversaw the Ebola Emergency Response Project in Sierra Leone. Having sorely missed direct patient interaction, he decided to return to clinical medicine and completed PGYI Psychiatry residency at University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt before joining the GW Program as a PGYII. His clinical interests include child and adolescent psychiatry, psychotherapy and working with marginalized and underprivileged groups. He will begin his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Children's National this July. He lives with his wife, two sons and dog and loves to play and watch soccer.
