Rachelle Tepel is chair of the George Washington University DC Metro LGBTQ+ Health Research Community Advisory Board. The board’s mission is to identify research needs and priorities of the LGBTQ communities and help LGBTQ community members interested in engaging in research connect with academic teams or research studies. She has provided economic analysis support to government agencies and has taught economics at the undergraduate and graduate level. Her current research interest is in disparities in healthcare delivery due to patient economic and demographic characteristics.
She is an Ambassador for the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute, a board member of the Equality Chamber of Commerce DC Metro Area, and past co-chair of the DC Metro Area Community Engagement Committee of the Human Rights Campaign. Ms Tepel has received her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from Brown University.
