Stephen Kyle Phelps, DO

​Dr. Stephen Kyle Phelps, DO, is a third-year Family Medicine resident at Unity Health Care’s National Program in Washington, DC. He earned his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Florida, where he trained at Tampa Bay Regional. Dr. Phelps is passionate about preventive medicine and health policy, with a focus on advancing patient advocacy through lifestyle-centered care. He is particularly interested in expanding nutrition education and practical healthy cooking initiatives in schools to help prevent chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. His long-term goal is to strengthen the role of prevention in national health policy to improve population health outcomes and reduce the economic burden of chronic disease on the American healthcare system.
