Sumedha Singh, MD
George Washington University Hospital, Internal Medicine
PGY-3
Sumedha Singh is a PGY3 Internal Medicine Resident Physician at George Washington University Hospital (GWUH). Sumedha started intern year at Drexel's Hahnemann Hospital (HUH) in Philadelphia but transferred to GWUH in DC to continue residency as a PGY2 after Hahnemann's unexpected closure in 2019. Sumedha has a dual undergraduate degree in economics and neuroscience from UCLA and pursued an early career in pharmaceutical management consulting before going to medical school. Sumedha is very excited to continue her medical training as a gastroenterology fellow this summer at Einstein Medical Center back in Philadelphia. At work, Sumedha feels passionate about providing equal, holistic healthcare to underrepresented, urban populations and finding opportunities to mentor young, budding student physicians. Sumedha has always had an interest in the availability and delivery of healthcare, however the closure of HUH made learning more about health policy in the US a personally poignant pursuit.
