Tamara Green
Chief Medical Officer,
Baltimore City Health Department

​Dr. Tamara Green is the Chief Medical Officer for the Baltimore City Health Department. Dr. Green is a health policy focused emergency medicine physician and public health practitioner with over 15 years of healthcare experience.  In addition to a medical degree from University of North Carolina, Dr. Green has a master's in health promotion and disease prevention from University of North Carolina, School of Public Health and a certificate in Health Policy from George Washington University.

At United Healthcare, she worked with the utilization review team, partnering with hospitalist teams to improve documentation and insurance review processes. In previous roles, Dr. Green has provided direct patient care and clinical oversight, taught residents and students, and supported policy analysis with experience working on U.S. Senate legislative efforts.  Dr. Green is passionate about improving health outcomes through equity focused approaches to health care delivery and policy.
