Trina Van (she/her) is a third-year pediatric resident at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She received her B.S. from Temple University in Philadelphia, where she coordinated two Guinness-World-Record-breaking community service events. She earned her M.D. at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) in Camden, NJ, where she was the President of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council and Secretary of her Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) chapter. Now in residency training, she was selected as an Association of Pediatric Program Directors (APPD) Advancing Inclusiveness in Medical Education Scholar (AIMS). She also serves as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Vice President of her labor union, the Committee of Interns and Residents (CIR), through which she has advocated to the DC City Council on behalf of her colleagues and patients. Her future career interests include serving pediatric patients in addiction medicine and border medicine.
