Research Track
Children's National Medical Center
Christian Stevens is a second-year pediatrics resident in the Research Track at Children’s National Hospital. He completed his undergraduate at Harvey Mudd College and his MD/PhD at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. His research has focused on emerging viral infections, host-pathogen interactions, and antimicrobial resistance in children with chronic respiratory disease. Alongside his scientific work, Christian served as a director of the Leaders in Health Policy Program at Mount Sinai. His prior work has included research and community engagement around vaccine confidence, leadership in medical education and health policy initiatives, and a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship examining doctor/patient relationships across six countries. His career goal is to bridge the bench and bedside, focusing on infections that disproportionately affect children and families with the fewest resources, and focusing on physicians as advocates and the natural attorneys for the most marginalized.
