Elizabeth Ireson, MD
Children's National Medical Center, General Academic Pediatrics Fellow

Elizabeth Ireson, M.D., is a general pediatrician at Children's National Columbia Heights and a general academic pediatrics fellow. She completed residency and chief residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in 2022, graduating from the Global Health and Primary Care pathways.  As a general academic pediatrics fellow, Dr. Ireson provides primary care as well as supervises medical students and residents. She is also involved in research, advocacy and health policy work. She has led research projects investigating social determinants of health screening in telehealth and water filter use in rural Guatemala. Her advocacy work has included national campaigns on magnet ingestion and firearm safety, development of local firearm safety legislative partnerships, and civic engagement training. Her goal is to contribute to health policy that promotes child health through equitable access to care and injury prevention.
