Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellow
Sarah Harney is a pediatric hematology/oncology fellow at Children’s National Hospital who is passionate about health equity, patient safety and quality, medical education, and trainee wellness. She grew up in Massachusetts and completed her undergraduate degree in music and psychology at Middlebury College in Vermont. She attended medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, splitting time between New York City and rural upstate New York as a member of the Bassett track, which offers students a unique longitudinal integrated clinical curriculum and intensive training in quality improvement. She completed her pediatric residency at Brown University/Hasbro Children’s Hospital, where she was co-chair of the residency wellness committee. Her fellowship research is focused on racial and ethnic diversity in clinical trials at the Pediatric Oncology Branch of the National Cancer Institute.
